Ankle Impingement Syndrome
When the tissues and any existing bone spurs in the ankle joint become trapped between bones and cause pinching, the result is Ankle Impingement Syndrome. Ankle pain is the most obvious symptom, particularly when the ankle is pointing downward or flexed upward. This condition is common in athletes who have sustained repeated ankle sprains. Although Ankle Impingement Syndrome responds well to non-surgical treatments, in many cases, Arthroscopic Surgery to clean out the scar tissue will be recommended by Dr. Nadel, in order to prevent continuing pain.
