I play tennis three times a week, but recently I've been having annoying elbow pain, and I noticed that my grip on the racket has weakened. Is this tennis elbow, or some other injury related to tennis?

It's possible that your elbow pain is a result of your regular tennis playing, but there may also be an alternate explanation. Though a diagnosis is best sought from an experienced San Fernando Valley orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports related injuries, a weakened grip might indicate that you're suffering from cubital tunnel syndrome, also called ulnar nerve entrapment. The ulnar nerve runs the length of your arm, from your collarbone and through to your fingers. Additionally, ulnar nerve entrapment may cause tingling and/or numbness in the fingers. Depending on the severity of your condition and whether or not your case of cubital tunnel syndrome responds to initial treatments, arthroscopic surgery is sometimes the best solution for a weak grip and associated elbow pain.
